Basic Research

Basic research at the DCMRC is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health and total approximately $500,000 per year. Current research is aimed towards understanding: 1) the physiologic information portrayed by magnetic resonance images of the heart; and 2) the clinical utility of this information. The DCMRC is currently developing additional research projects in collaboration with investigators within Duke University and with investigators at other medical instiutions.

NIH grants supporting research at the DCMRC:

Detection of Salvageable Myocardium by Contrast MRI (R01, PI: Judd)

Contrast MRI and Chronic Myocardial Injury in Humans (R01, PI: Kim)

Detection of Salvageable Myocardium by Contrast MRI (K02, PI: Judd)
